Welcome
to the Recremania project presentation
|
| Music
is the best way for young children to discover foreign cultures and languages.
Europe has a rich and creative production of children music, ranging from
traditional repertories to contemporary artists. However, its development
is limited by linguistic and regional boundaries and the absence of real
European media to give access to these fragmented cultural repertories.
The
goal of the Recremania project is to give opportunity to European children
to discover and share their musical heritage through a European musical
multilingual portal for children with innovative edutainment tools.
The project builds on the partners’ complementary know-how : music
online and educational multimedia technologies (Tralalere-France),
music production and knowledge of European children repertories (PMJ-France),
pedagogical expertise (Manchester Metropolitan University-UK,
Goethe Institut-Germany), mobile technologies (Cedetel-Spain),
children and language learning.

Collecting
children's repertoire in 5 countries
Each
partner identified and collected repertoire in its country, in order to
feed a multilingual songs database.
This European songs database will be displayed on the website, especially
designed for children. Children discover foreign languages through songs
and interactive activities and also play and discover stories. |

The
first on-line european music store, 100% dedicated to children music
The website
will also enable parents to buy children songs, on the first on-line european
music store, 100% dedicated to children music, through two complementary
means:
-
customised CD (a personalized CD containing the songs they have chosen),
which is produced on demand and sent by post,
-
songs download.
This
European songs database will be displayed on the website, especially designed
for children. Children discover foreign languages through songs and interactive
activities and also play and discover stories. |

For
teachers: Songs based foreign language teaching
Songs are one of the favourite means of teachers to introduce young children
to a foreign language. That is why the Recremania project also includes
songs based teaching packages, containing music files and teaching material.
Each package is translated in all the languages of the project.
To be sure that this pedagogical content will be usable with different
learning systems, we make it IMS / SCORM conformant.
